2012 Volleyball Trials

The Gladstone Volleyball School of Excellence 2012 Trials will be held on Friday 3rd of February  at 4.00 pm – 8.00 pm. It is open to all girls in Year 9 to year 12.

The Volleyball Queensland Trials are on the same weekend. Thus it is not expected that If you are going to Brisbane to attend our trails first. Just let us know of your intentions to trail for Queensland and we will trail for school at a later date.

If you want information about Queensland Trials go to their website or visit the PE Staffroom.

Next week  we will run training for all teams as a joint group to allow players to get some practice in before trials

Nationals Schools Cup Results

ONE OF THE BUSSES WILL BE TRAVELLING FROM CALLIOPE ON SATURDAY MORNING.   IT WILL LEAVE THE CROSSROAD  SERVICE STATION  AT 4:30 AM.   IF YOU WANT TO PICK UP THE BUS AT THE CROSSROAD  YOU  NEED TO BE THERE ON TIME.   A ROLL WILL ONLY BE TAKEN AT SCHOOL AT 5:00AM.

Reminder the bus leave at the front of the school at 5.00 am on Saturday.  Students will need to be in dress shirt and neat pants and shoes.

Luggage  will need to separated in to checked luggage  ( no more than 20 Kg )  and carry on luggage for the plane. If Room please place playing uniform  in carry ons.

NB    :    Due  to  business of this week for staff and timing of leave.  Can  all players please bring  a  wrapped lunch  for the bus  including  a drink.   We will stop in parks  along the route  but unable to have all students purchasing  lunch.   Our schedule to Sunshine Coast  is not tight but stopping to purchase would take to much time.  

MELBOURNE 2011

Dear Parents,

We are in the final countdown to Melbourne, so please find a few last minute details on this letter.  Final payments should have been made, so please clear these up immediately.  If you are unsure of your payment responsibilities, please call us on 4976 6118 to discuss.

All girls will be bussed to the Sunshine Coast for their flight to Melbourne.  The busses will leave:

Date – 3^rd December 2011

Time – 5am

Where – Front of the school (near Admin)

 

All girls should make sure they have packed the following:

• Playing gear – shirt, bikepants, socks, knee pads, shoes,
• Travel shirt, tracksuit, Sharks bag
• Jeans (to wear as travel uniform)
• Toiletries
•  Casual clothing for around unit and possible outings
• A set of nice clothes to wear to final dinner
• A washing bag

Please make sure all items of clothing are labelled!  There is a 20kg baggage limit.  Students will be responsible for payment if their baggage is heavier than 20kg.

 

Busses will return from the Sunshine Coast on Saturday 10^th December at approximately 10:30pm, and will meet parents at Kmart Carpark.

AUSTRALIAN VOLLEYBALL SCHOOL CUP

Flights are now booked for Melbourne.  All flights were changed by Jet Star  but have now been  finalised.  All teams will now be on the same plane  in both directions.   More information on leaving and return  soon

Dear Parents,

The dates of the tour are from, Saturday 3^rd December and returning on Saturday 10^th December.

Following is information about the trip:

Transport:

Flights to Melbourne booked from Sunshine Coast

Bus transport to and from Sunshine Coast Airport

Bus: Melbourne Airport to Accommodation

Bus: Accommodation to Melbourne Airport.

Mini Bus: During the week to games

Tram : During the week a tram pass will be used

Stanton Apartments is situated 10 minutes from Albert Park the venue we will play in Melbourne

Three bedroom apartments, all with separate living rooms, fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms.

A food kitty is included per player for the week. This will adequately cover all food from leaving Gladstone until return

Junior school Cup information 10/10/2011

2011 QUEENSLAND

JUNIOR  VOLLEYBALL SCHOOL’S   CUP

The  dates of the tour are from Thursday 13^th October returning on Sunday  16^th October.

Transport: Transport will be by school bus or private car.

WE LEAVE  7.30 am  on the Thursday  from school hall

 

RETURN  Sunday Night / Monday morning   we will return  to K Mart Car Park.

All players will ring along the return trip to give a better time estimate of return time.  It is imperative that parents be at the K Mart when the bus arrives as we would like to unload the bus and leave.

Accommodation:   Chandler Lodge: Chandler Sports Complex

.Food      All meals from Thursday Lunch until return have been included.

All  players need to Bring

• Cup / Bowl /  plate
• Knife / fork / Spoon
• Tea towel.

We
will have Breakfast at the hotel and some night meals.  Players will need to bring above items.  It would be better to have in a draw string bag so easy to look after.

All Teams going to Brisbane

                           Below is more information about Brisbane.

• leaving from hall about 7.00 – 730 am on Thursday  13 October
• Every player will need to bring a plate / knife,fork ,spoon / bowl / cup/ tea towel in a separate draw string bag.
• Breakfast supplied by accommodation
• Lunches supplied   we will bring a packed lunch to game venues each day
• Dinner  we will  arrange dinners  , some out and some cooked at accommodation
• players will not need to bring money for food except and extra snakes  they wish to have.  We do hope they will not bring or eat junk food during the tour.  We will have food on the bus  but some players may wish to purchase when we stop for rests and fuel
• Each venue will have a volleyball  shop.  T-shirts / shorts etc  can be bought. As soon as I get a price list I will post

• All beds are supplied with 2 single sheets, mattress protector, pillow, 1 pillowcase, towel and cotton blanket for use by guests. Linen can be found on your bed when you arrive at your room. Beds are not made up and the guest can choose to use this linen or leave it on bed after departure.

•  

• There are games on  Friday 8 October for all teams. This is a warm up tournament for all teams going to Brisbane.   Please check with your coach about this.

Open Girls Team

The open girls team  need to meet Monday Second  Break in D2.  Please pass the word around to all players  so they know to be at the meeting

Due to year 11 Camp a few organisational items need to worked out  on Monday.

Slice Drive Information

Hi everyone, I have the beautiful coloured brochure for our slice drv, too big to email. I will take them to work if you can pick them up from there. Hosking Pools and Pool Care Cnr Chapman Drv and Dawson Hwy, Clinton. I am there Tuesday to Saturday all day 9 to 5 except Thursday when I start at 12.30. Money due 21/10/2011 with delivery around 4/11/11. I know it is a little long winded but with school holidays, the Brisbane trip we have a little longer to sell. SUPA SLICE DRIVE

Hi everyone, I am trying to organise a Supa Slice Drive. Would someone (depending on the order, it may require more than one person) be available to pick the order up from the railway station on a Thursday or Friday if we were to hold a Supa Slice Drive. I am unable to pick it up due to work commitments and they will not deliver on my days off. Let me know and if possible could you also drop my order to my place of work? If I can’t get helpers for this Drive we just won’t do it. We also need to sell $1500 before they will deliver to Gladstone. We can do it. Please advise me as soon as possible.
