DOWNUNDER TOURNAMENT – GOLD COAST

QUEENSLAND SENIOR SCHOOLS’ CUP- BRISBANE 2016

Dear Parent/Carer

With the first of our competitions so close, the following information will ensure that your daughter will be organised for the Tournament.

Cost: $500 ($150 for DownUnder & $350 for Brisbane) (If you have been paying your monthly payment then we ask that you pay $300 total for both)

 Departure:

The bus will be leaving from the Hall entrance:

Friday 15 July 2016 – 7am. Please ensure that your daughter is at school at 6.45am to avoid being late and missing the bus.

Thursday 4 August 2016 – 7.30am. Please ensure that your daughter is at school at 7.15am to avoid being late and missing the bus.

 Arrival Home:

While it is expected that we will be arriving home at approximately 3:00pm on both Monday 18 July and 8 August, players will call ahead to let parents know our ETA. Players

Meals: students will need to bring money for dinner on the first night, as we visit the shopping centre to buy groceries, and it is too late to cook dinner when we are finished. However, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided on that day, as will other meals for the duration of the trip. As an optional extra, there may be an opportunity for students to go shopping and it is therefore recommended that students bring a small amount of spending money if they would like.

Money: all money should be paid and up to date prior to the Tournament.

DownUnder Tournament is held each year on the Gold Coast and is a two day international tournament against 12 visiting school teams from USA. This tournament is seen as a valuable warm up for the Queensland Championships in August. This year we have decided to keep the costs as low as possible and are only charging the girls $150 each. Accommodation will be at Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park, in a three bedroom self-contained villa. All bedding is provided.

Senior Schools Cup held each year will be held in Brisbane this year for the first time with only years 11 and 12 teams taking part. Teams need to qualify for Nationals at this tournament. Accommodation will be Apartments. Girls will be in two bedroom self-contained apartments with all bedding provided.
